Bay-area drivers can learn how to reduce transportation costs and test drive new eco-friendly vehicles at the second annual Green Drive Expo, which takes place from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Craneway Pavilion in Richmond, Calif.
“The Bay area is a hotspot for green car activity, as evidenced by our large turnout last year,” Green Drive Expo Founder Eric Powers said. “Whether you’re an enthusiast or just curious about eco-friendly vehicles, this event will be a fun and educational experience.”
Attendees will be able to explore the full range of green alternative transportation, from concept cars to purchase-ready vehicles such as hybrids and biodiesel. For example, Green Drive Expo is the first time Bay-area consumers will get a chance to drive Toyota's Prius v, Camry Hybrid and the North American debut of the 2012 Prius Plug-in hybrid.
Speakers include Felix Kramer of the California Cars Initiative (CalCars), who will discuss the future of plug-in vehicles, and Ron DeLong of ScanGuage, which helps consumers save up to one-third in fuel costs.
Toyota is the Diamond Sponsor, while Chevrolet, Luscious Garage, Nissan and PluginCars.com are the Gold Sponsors.
A similar expo held in July in Madison, Wis., exceeded a Guinness World Record for the longest hybrid vehicle parade with 208 vehicles.
