Appliances Online Short Listed for Seven Online Retail Industry Awards in 2011

>PRWEB.COM Newswire

Sydney, Australia (PRWEB) August 30, 2011

Appliances Online has been recognized in seven highly coveted categories for the prestigious Online Retail Industry Awards (ORIA) 2011. After an overwhelming number of entries were received, Appliances Online is proud to reveal it has been nominated for more awards than any other online retailer in the country.

At a time when the demand for online retail is reaching extraordinary new highs, the ORIA Awards recognize excellence in e-commerce within the Australian retail industry. The ORIA’s also commend the achievements of Australia’s retail leaders and this year, John Winning, CEO of Appliances Online, has been nominated for the esteemed ‘Industry Recognition Award’.

John Winning said: “Online retail is a fiercely competitive business arena. To be in the running as a finalist for seven ORIA awards is an honor. My team and I have been relentless in our commitment to building a truly unique and innovative online business. We are thrilled with the nominations”.

John started the now multi-million dollar enterprise in 2005 with a rented truck, laptop and a 1300 number connected to his mobile phone. Today, it is Australia’s largest online retailer of whitegoods and appliances, and at just 27 years of age, John is one of the most successful Australian online entrepreneurs. When establishing Appliances Online, John was determined to prove to disbelievers that you could successfully shop for large home appliances – such as a fridge or a dishwasher – in an online format. And he did, by successfully providing Australian consumers with all the best elements of shopping in a bricks and mortar retail store.

“Our core-value promise is to provide consumers with the highest level of customer service time and time again. We are constantly looking at new ways to interact with our customers and provide them with an unforgettably seamless, easy and enjoyable shopping experience 16 hours a day, seven days a week. I believe this to be a key reason for Appliances Online to be identified as an ORIA finalist.”
Appliances Online’s contributions to the world of online retail are now gaining formidable recognition. In July this year, the business was named a finalist for the renowned Oracle World Retail Awards 2011 for the category ‘Pure Play Retailer of the Year’. Just recently, the President of the Australian Computer Society described Appliances Online as a company creating its own destiny by combining the latest technological advances with outstanding customer service.

The ORIA’s, now in their second year, will be judged by a panel of respected industry heavyweights. Awards finalists will be announced at a Gala event on September 27, at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre Parkside Ballroom.
