‘The Chosen Path’ Makes Debut at Cannes

‘The Chosen Path’, a film that explores the topic of religion and leads a pro-life/pro-choice debate by telling the story of a young girl who is faced with making tough decisions while not abandoning her faith, will be promoted at the Marché du Film, during the 71st edition of the Cannes Film Festival In the French Riviera in May 2018.

The film, financed by Beverly Hills based Gray Pictures, and directed by Panamanian director Eric Iglesias is being presented to sales agents and distributors as part of the distribution plan to reach a wider international audience, all while the film goes through the film festival circuit.

This is the first feature film for the director, a graduate from the New York Film Academy, who made a career as a commercial filmmaker in Latin America, and whose previous films tackled issues like immigration and organ trafficking. Iglesias’s film, ‘A Day In The Park’, won the Silver Ace Award at the Las Vegas Film Festival and ‘Lucy’ was an official selection at the Oscar-qualifying Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival. Iglesias’s films, ‘Lucy’ and ’16’, were also showcased in the Cannes Film Festival in 2013 and 2014.

Principal photography took place in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Salt Lake City, and was made possible by a multi-national team of people of more than ten countries that came together for the production. Cinematographer Violetta D’Agata, a member of AIC (Associazione Italiana Autori della Fotografia Cinematografica), flew to the US from Spain to join the production.

Headlining the production are Colombian singer/actress Camila Llano, American actors Kei’la Ryan, and Christian Calloway (known from ‘Dirty Beautiful’, ‘Free Mason’, ‘Revenge, Inc.’).

The Marché du Film is the business counterpart of the Cannes Film Festival and one of the largest film markets in the world. Established in 1959, it is held annually in conjunction with the Cannes Film Festival, and every year attracts sales agents and distributors from more than 100 countries.
