Icons of Podcasting Gather for New Media Summit

Forty of the leading podcasters and online radio show hosts are attending the 2018 New Media Summit in San Diego, April 12 – 14. Summit attendees will each have the chance to pitch show hosts for the opportunity to become a guest on their podcast.

Los Angeles, CA - April 4, 2018 - According to data from Edison Research, podcasting and online radio consumption is continuing to grow among US consumers. The 2017 Infinite Dial Study by Edison and Triton Digital reveals that 67 million Americans listen to podcasts on a monthly basis and 42 million listen on a weekly basis.

While audience growth was steady and consistent with the previous several years, the 25 – 54 year old audience showed the biggest gains. The growth in this audience is of particular importance for many podcasters as it is the age group targeted by most business podcasts.

The New Media Summit is designed for authors, speakers or business owners who wish to learn how to become in-demand guests and get booked on major shows. It is also structured so that aspiring podcast hosts and producers can learn from some of the leaders in the field regarding best practices and methods for growing their podcast audience and profile of the host.

One of the featured ‘Icons of Podcasting’ is Dov Baron, the host and executive producer of the Leadership and Loyalty Show. Baron’s show has had millions of downloads, and is ranked as the top leadership podcast for Fortune 500 executives.

Baron, who teaches a program called How to Become a Podcast Superstar will be advising summit attendees about both sides of the podcasting business—getting booked on big shows as well as building a platform with a successful show. At the summit Baron expects many attendees will be looking for advice on honing their show so they are able to keep listeners engaged for the show’s duration.

“Just as importantly, you’ll learn the ability to connect with your podcast audience in a way that gets them to take the action you need them to take,” Baron added.
