Dehesa implements new English Language Arts programs

During the 20017-2018, Dehesa introduced two new programs that will provide students with additional online resources and tools to advance reading, writing, and speaking skills. The implementation of McGraw-Hill’s English Language Arts curriculum aligns with California’s new Common Core State Standards by combining technology and proven literacy strategies to offer students, teachers, and parents a wealth of support.

StudySync, for grades 6th to 8th, is a comprehensive ELA and English Language Development program specially designed for technology enhanced classrooms and provide effective digital instruction that engages all types of learners. With over hundreds of texts, videos, and lessons to choose from, this cross-curricular solution helps teachers manage the classroom and develop students’ literacy skills.

Wonders, for students in Kindergarten to 5th grade, is an ELA/ELD program offers research-based print and digital resources that support students while building a strong literacy foundation, accessing complex texts, engaging in collaborative conversations, and writing. Wonders provides scaffolded support for all language proficiency levels, which makes it perfect for any English Language Arts curriculum, including intervention or immersion.

Both programs offer students a way to practice their reading and writing skills at home and an opportunity for parents to review their child’s work and the standards being taught throughout the year.
