Trendspotting Entrepreneur, Activist and Early Crypto Currency Investor Launches Venture Firm

GREAT NECK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / January 11, 2018 / Since the age of 15, Richard Rofé has had an uncanny ability to spot trends. In high school and throughout college Rofé produced Tyvek jackets for numerous multinational organizations and iconic brands including the US Open and Major League Baseball teams. He was one of the first to spot Buffalo wings as a popular food in upstate NY and launched Wings of Westwood in Manhattan, growing to 35 locations around the US and later to stadiums, airports, hotels and finally supermarkets.

Rofé then jumped on the Internet bandwagon in the late 90s with a software company aimed at making the net easy to use for non-programming types. DataBites, Inc., Internet World's Best of Show winner for 2000 and sold, before the bust of the dotcom bubble, leading Rofé to what was, until recently, his most profitable endeavor - activist investing. From 2008 to 2013 Rofé ran Arcadia Capital Advisors, an activist fund, where he was recognized for his impressive success rate.

It was in 2013 when Rofé's friend, Matthew Roszak, a tech entrepreneur and today one of crypto currency's top names, returned from Singapore with the strong recommendation that Rofé immediately put all of his free cash into something called "Bitcoin". A skeptic at first, Rofé forged through the complex process of opening an account to acquire some Bitcoin.

"Over time I became more intrigued by the transformational nature of cryptocurrency and came to the conclusion that the underlying technology was probably the most disruptive innovation I had seen since the Internet itself," commented Rofé.

Today Rofé manages a diversified crypto portfolio with a small and growing team of former Wall Street professionals and expert blockchain technologists. In 2017, he added a venture capital division to his privately held Arcadia Capital Management.

Arcadia Crypto Ventures already has several investments in its portfolio. The company spends time assessing new projects and funding Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) where Rofé usually takes an advisory board role. The company has quickly become a leader in the crypto venture world and experienced unprecedented growth in 2017.

"We have a tremendous amount of deal flow and sifting through all of them to find the winners is a challenging but exciting task," says Rofé. "Most importantly, I believe we are still in the early innings of a technological revolution that will transform the way we work and live."
