Top 10 Sci-Fi Couples – ADAM ORTON’S ’AMELIA 2.0’ MAKES THE LIST!

Robots can be sexy too.

Los Angeles, CA - September 9, 2017 - TriCoast Entertainment recently released “AMELIA 2.0”, a sci-fi, female suspense film capturing the desire to bring back a loved one, and the willingness to do whatever that takes. Starring Carter Summerland (Ben Whitehair) and his recently deceased wife, Amelia (Angela Billman), Carter agrees to an experiment that uses modern day technology to extend life through robotics.

Directed by Adam Orton, MORE Productions and WeatherVane Productions have created a futuristic film that dabbles in the religious, legal and scientific world, where we question what qualities truly make us human.

The genre of science fiction films have been known for introducing the world to epic space battles, futuristic science and technology, warped time travel and alien invasions.

But, geeks fall in love too.

“AMEILA 2.0” is the perfect collaboration of sci-fi meets geek romance. Many sci-fi movies cause us to shed a tear, while we root for the couple to find their way out of their unknown world.

TriCoast Entertainment has put together a list of our favorite films to watch to set the mood for romantic, sci-fi films. These are our “Top 10 Sci-Fi Couples”:

1. Joel & Clementine (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind)

Unlucky Joel (Jim Carrey) meets the spontaneous, Clementine (Kate Winslet) on a train to Montauk. Their relationship blossoms, only to lead to heartbreak and Joel’s decision to hire someone to erase the memory of her forever.

Fun fact – Originally, the screenplay began 50 years in the future.

2. Fry & Leela – (Futurama)

Fry & Leela hold a close friendship by overcoming imminent peril and their sentiments of constant loneliness. It is not until the end of the TV show that the unlikely couple crosses over the border of friendship to a relationship, which of course, ends with a happy ending.

3. Hermione Granger & Ron Weasley (Harry Potter series)

Hermione Granger & Ron Weasley have been one of the most popular, highly anticipated romances in film and literary history. Their constant bickering is just like an old, married couple as they engage in several, life-threatening battles against He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.

4. Captain Colter Stevens & Christina Warren (Source Code)

6. Beatrice “Tris” Prior & Four (Divergent series)

When Tris (Shailene Woodley) leaves her innate societal group of Abnegation to Dauntless, she uncovers her rare qualities that define her as “Divergent”. When Four (Theo James) uncovers her secret, he helps protect it by prepararing for her final test. Four expects her to pass the test, but the two never meant to fall in love.

7. Captain Carter Summerland & Amelia (Amelia 2.0)

When Captain Summerland’s wife, Amelia, suffers from a sudden brain aneurism, his intense, emotional grief leads to her entrance into an experiment that uses modern technology to extend human life through robotics.

These two time travelers’ silent love for each has grown, despite Rose’s separation from the Doctor in an alternate Earth. Even though their true love is undeniable, their relationship only results in (two) goodbyes.

10. Buffy & Spike (& Angel) (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

The favorite couple from Buffy the Vampire Slayer has been continuously debated, but it is obvious that Spike and Buffy was the realest couple, even compared to the famous high school couple, Buffy & Angel.
