Hemisphere GPS Sets Annual General Meeting Date and Addresses Impact of Postal Disruption on Proxy Mailing

CALGARY, June 16, 2011 /CNW/ - (TSX: HEM)  Hemisphere GPS Inc. today announced that the annual general meeting of its shareholders will be held on July 13th at 9:30AM Mountain Daylight Time at the Company's head office at 4110 9th Street S.E., Calgary, Alberta.

The Information Circular and Proxy Statement of the Company with respect to the annual general meeting is expected to be mailed or otherwise delivered on Friday, June 17, 2011 to Hemisphere GPS' shareholders of record at the close of business on May 13, 2011. In light of the postal disruption in Canada, the physical delivery of the Information Circular and accompanying Instrument of Proxy or Voting Instruction Form to certain shareholders may be delayed. Accordingly, any shareholders that do not receive their meeting materials in a timely fashion are encouraged to access and review electronic copies, which will be filed under Hemisphere GPS' profile on SEDAR at www.sedar.com and on Hemisphere GPS' corporate website at www.hemispheregps.com by Friday, June 17, 2011. Hemisphere GPS' shareholders that do not receive their meeting materials in a timely fashion are also advised that they may take the following steps in order to ensure their vote is represented at the annual general meeting.

Beneficial Shareholders

The vast majority of shareholders are beneficial shareholders and do not hold their Hemisphere GPS shares in their own name but instead hold shares through a broker, financial institution, trustee, nominee or other intermediary. Most brokers or other intermediaries delegate responsibility for obtaining voting instructions from clients to Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc. who provides beneficial shareholders with a Voting Instruction Form which contains instructions on how to vote by internet or telephone along with a control number specific to each beneficial shareholder which is required to record the votes through the Internet or telephone voting system. Beneficial shareholders who do not receive physical delivery of their Voting Instruction Form and control number by mail due to postal disruption may obtain their control number by contacting their broker, financial institution, nominee or other intermediary that holds their Hemisphere GPS shares.

Upon obtaining their control number, beneficial shareholders may proceed to vote their shares by accessing the Broadridge Internet or telephone voting system in the normal course as follows or provide directions to their broker, financial institution, nominee or other intermediary to vote on their behalf:

Computershare Trust Company of Canada provides registered shareholders with an Instrument of Proxy which contains instructions on how to vote by mail, internet or telephone along with a control number specific to each registered shareholder.
