RC21X Finalist in Stadia Ventures Spring Cohort

Brain Performance Monitoring Company One of 10 Sports-Related Startup Companies Selected to Present in Pitch for up to $100,000 Investment.

Coraopolis, PA - February 20, 2017 - (

RC21X has been selected as a finalist for the Stadia Ventures Accelerator to earn a slot in the Spring 2017 Cohort and an investment of up to $100,000. Twice each year, Stadia, the St. Louis-based Sports Innovation Hub, conducts a private and public call for submissions around the world. RC21X, which has developed web- and mobile-based platforms for monitoring brain performance, is one of 10 finalists and will present to a panel of more than 70 judges in the highly competitive pitch, February 21 and 22.

“We’re excited to tell our story,” says RC21X CEO Clarence Carlos. “We are humbled to be chosen, and confident that our technology can make an impact in the brain health space. Now we have to make our case.”

Stadia Accelerator helps established sports business startups get to the next level through the combination of up to a $100,000 equity investment, intensive mentoring, and connecting founders to the top sports business executives in the country. Stadia leverages its network of industry executives that includes senior leadership at teams, leagues, sponsors, manufacturers, marketers, investors and business service representatives.

Among the judges are representatives from CBS Sports, Gatorade, Sony Corp., UnderArmour and Tulsa Capital Partners.

“We think we’re in a good position as brain health and brain performance are growing concerns,” says Carlos. “We see an increased medical focus on both concussions in sports as well as dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease among baby boomers.”

RC21X and the mobile app Roberto are based on pen-and-paper tests that have been used for decades to monitor neurocognitive and neuro-motor performance. Each session produces a unique profile—a set of scores that provides objective data on brain performance. Users can monitor the effects of those changes in real time, allowing the opportunity to have more meaningful conversations with healthcare providers if their performance shows a downward trend.
