Increasingly, business leaders are recognizing the powerful effect that music can have on creativity, productivity and workplace culture.  Inc., the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Gibson Brands and Gig Salad have joined forces to celebrate companies that support their workers' musical talents and to give company-sponsored bands the opportunity to unleash their passion for rock and roll.

Interested company-sponsored bands should submit a 3-song CD no later than February 2, 2015 to the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, 1100 Rock and Roll Blvd., Cleveland, OH 44114. Attention: Lisa V There is no fee to enter.

At least half of each band's members must be an employee of the entering company, including the lead vocalist. The remainder of each band must be made up of amateur musicians (they cannot make their living solely as a musician – that means no studio cats, pro club circuit players and definitely no ringers).

All band submissions will be judged by a panel at The Rock Hall to determine a list of 18 bands to compete in each of 3 regional competitions  The selections for the regional competitions will by made by February 10, 2015. These competitions are tentatively scheduled for March, April and May 2015 in Nashville, Los Angeles and one additional site.

Each regional competition will send two winning bands to the final competition at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio on September 5, 2015.

"This unique competition will uncover the budding rock star ambitions in the business community," said Steve Dobo, director of sponsorship and promotions for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.

"Fast-growing private companies give the U.S. economy the bulk of its vitality and innovation," says Eric Schurenberg, Inc.'s president and editor-in-chief. "I expect The PlayOff will prove that they also provide a lot of its soul."
