Captoons: The Adult Board Game of Comic Foreplay and Social Intercourse Is Now on Kickstarter - Adults Only

After years in the making, first-time game creator and long-time partier Jerod Edington is preparing to change the face of party games forever.

Having played popular party games like Cards Against Humanity and Apples to Apples, Edington saw a need for a new kind of game, one that combines racy adult humor with hilariously suggestive cartoons. Each round consists of players choosing the most uproariously funny caption from their hand to be paired with a pre-selected cartoon in the middle of the table. The person judged as having the best combination wins the round.

Edington has spent the last few years and most of his savings on developing the game. From writing literally hundreds of captions to working with various talented cartoonists, he has overseen every aspect of the game and is convinced that the world is ready to play. "People often ask me where I came up with all this stuff," says Edington. "I just tell them, 'I try to think of the funniest things that I would never say to another person in real life.'"

With the game now ready to be printed and sold, Edington has turned to the Kickstarter community to assist with funding the first print run. "I've followed Kickstarter since it first came out a few years ago, and have seen dozens of incredible gaming projects. I think backers on Kickstarter really have a sense of what works and what doesn't."

Here's a few example captions to help you get a feel for the game:

  • "She's nothing but a walking, talking Viagra commercial."
  • "Would you like me to put tulips on your organ?"
  • "Who doesn't like the scent of Calvin Klein's Desperation?"
  • "It was like a nasty mouthful of creamed corn."

Kickstarter campaigns operate under an "all-or-nothing" funding model so if Captoons doesn't reach its goal by November 14th, 2014, then Edington goes home empty-handed. Be sure to follow Captoons on Twitter (@Captoons) and Facebook to follow his progress and make sure to spread the word on social media networks. Consider donating as little as $5 to help the project come to life. Those decide to donate more might be among the first in the world turn up the heat at their next party.
