This holiday, the Key Largo Bay Marriott Beach Resort makes it easy for visitors to enjoy all three activities by hosting an Independence Day Beach Cookout that will blow all other celebrations right out of the water. The event is scheduled to take place on Gus' Beach. Gates for the cookout open at 6:30 p.m., with Breezer's Tiki Bar starting the party at 4 p.m. to get revelers ready with custom cocktails and snacks.

The Key Largo resort's Gus' Grille, a casual restaurant known for its "Floribbean" specialties and delectable homemade desserts, also will offer dinner specials from 5 to 11 p.m.

Visitors attending the cookout will enjoy lime mango barbecue ribs and barbecue chicken from the Key Largo, FL, resort's talented chef and catering staff. Traditional holiday fare on the menu includes grilled Angus burgers, jumbo beef hot dogs and barbecue and buffalo chicken wings. A Fourth of July party would not be complete without corn on cob in sweet butter, red bliss potato salad, Boston baked beans, red cabbage jicama cole slaw and a grilled vegetable pasta salad. Save room for dessert, too, with chilled seedless watermelon, assorted cookies, brownies and pie on tap.

Live entertainment will be provided throughout the night so celebrants can take in the warm breezes and imbibe cool custom-concocted cocktails while waiting for the fireworks display to begin at 10 p.m.

Visitors hoping to extend the party after the fireworks finale can sip on cocktails and drinks at Breezer's Tiki Bar with great views and friendly bartenders. The Key Largo resort's casual bar will stay open until midnight to keep the spirits flowing.

Tickets for the event, open to the public, are $30 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. Tax, gratuity, live entertainment and the fireworks show are all included. Tickets can be purchased in advance or the day of at the front desk of the Florida resort.

Spectators who have way too much fun at the holiday cookout and fireworks display are welcome to stay at the Key Largo resort and relax in spacious guest rooms designed with a "Floribbean" flare. Luxurious down comforters, custom duvets and cotton-rich linens on thick mattresses offer a cozy place for a sound night's sleep.
