AngelHack and HP Announce IDOL OnDemand Hackathon: Unleashing Innovation and Breaking Boundaries

>PRWEB.COM Newswire

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 27, 2014

Top developers from the San Francisco Bay Area will have the opportunity to participate in HP Autonomy's IDOL OnDemand Hackathon on June 7-8.

IDOL OnDemand delivers a growing set of web service APIs that allow developers to tap into the explosive growth of unstructured information to build a new generation of apps. With IDOL OnDemand web service APIs, HP Autonomy is bringing the power of HP IDOL (Intelligent Data Operating Layer), one of the world's most capable human information processing engines, to the cloud.

Participants will have 24 hours to build apps for any market and any platform utilizing IDOL OnDemand web service APIs. HP Autonomy hopes to inspire developers to use full creative control of their software and hardware hacks without being bogged down by any rules or regulations.

Hackers will be encouraged step outside the box with IDOL OnDemand APIs, which include a portfolio of APIs within the format conversion, image analysis, indexing, search and text analysis categories.

This hackathon will push boundaries never seen before by offering two separate challenges, Fresh Code and "Not-so-Fresh Code." Teams have a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas to present their app at HP Discover, cash money, a featured spotlight on the IDOL OnDemand App showcase, and more.

The event will be held on June 7 - 8. For more information and to reserve tickets to the event, visit http://hpidolhack.eventbrite.com.
