Lights 4 Living Respond to New Interlocking Lamp Design

(PRWEB UK) 22 October 2013

Industrial designer Jean-Sebastien Lagrange has designed a stylish new home lighting solution constructed from interlocking sections of Tyvek – a synthetic paper-like material, reports De Zeen. The overlapping structure of the lamp is made up of folded sections of Tyvek, fastened together with two colourful rings per section. One small ring is placed at the top, with a larger one fixing the sections together at the bottom.

This unique structure and use of the material means that the lamp can be delivered to buyers as a piece of flat pack furniture and easily assembled by absolutely anyone. Jean-Sebastien Lagrange is also the designer who recently created the L-INK lamp poster, which used 3D printing technology with LED lighting. He is known for using different materials for unique products that can be used around the home.

Leading home lighting company Lights 4 Living has praised the use of Tyvek by Jean-Sebastien Lagrange for this new lightshade. A spokesperson for the company said:

“We’re always on the lookout for the use of new materials or new ideas in the home lighting industry, and this interlocking lamp from Jean-Sebastien Lagrange makes great use of a material, Tyvek, that you wouldn’t ordinarily associate with the world of lighting.

“It’s also great that the resulting product is so lightweight and easy to assemble, and it can be put together by anyone who wants to include it in their home. This seems like a step forward in convenient and self-assembled lighting solutions for the home.”
