Author Sets Gripping Teenage Adventure Fiction in Ancient Israel

From the creative and highly imaginative author Richard L. Tenney comes a poignant and highly engaging volume that paints a unique picture of ancient Israeli life and gives a transcendent message on how fathers play a deeply important role in families in “The Lehi Chronicles.”
The story revolves around a handful of boys in 650 BC Israel. They encounter life’s challenges head on. Good friends, family, faith in God and trust that total strangers can be relied upon even when there seems to be no other choice are some of the virtues incorporated in the their story. Perhaps family life, 2650 years ago, was not as different as people hope to see them today. Husbands are commanded to love their wives, sons adore their fathers, and daughters display the Godlike feminine qualities of their mothers. Regardless of the times they live in, however, life for them was full of hardship and danger. How they react to that danger, in the end, tells the Lord and mankind who they really are.
Here is an excerpt from the “The Lehi Chronicles”:
“Jacob listened for an hour or more, putting together the story as they talked on and off about why they were here and who had sent them. Finally, he decided that it was futile to try to save anyone: evidently there was no one left to save. As far as he knew he was the sole survivor of the once proud little village of Hamadi. It was hard for him to control his emotions as he sat in his hiding place and listen to the soldier’s talk of the atrocities they had performed upon his people, but then his thoughts turned to Lehi and Ishmael.”
Thought-provoking and deeply heart wrenching, “The Lehi Chronicles” follows a devout man who loves his family so much that he would risk his whole life for them. This book showcases how family bonding and friendship are the most powerful forces for good and that God has a plan for each of his people.
Richard L. Tenney was raised and educated in Northern California. He has combined many years of travel, study and research to produce this novel. “From the minute I started my first rough notes on this book the story would not leave me alone. It pushed and challenged and nagged at me until the final note was struck.” said Tenney. He married Sally Jo Bishop in 1971. They are the parents of seven children.
