Lotus Sculpture Installs Ganesha Statue in the Cleveland Museum of Art

>PRWEB.COM Newswire

(PRWEB) June 04, 2013

Lotus Sculpture is proud to announce the completion of a bronze Ganesh statue for the Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland, Ohio. The new statue replicates Ganesha, (1970.62), an 11th century object in the museum's permanent collection. The works are displayed together, contrasting the antique with the modern sculpture, in the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Gallery One, an innovative gallery that blends art, technology and interpretation.

Lotus Sculpture began work on the commission in October, 2011. The commissioned Ganesh duplicates the size, style and shape of the antique, but is fabricated in golden, polished bronze and attired in temple vestments like today's temple statues. The Hindu God Ganesha is the remover of obstacles and one of the most popular gods in the Hindu religion.

“We are very happy to showcase the talent of our bronze sculptors with the classic antiquities of the Cleveland Museum of Art in their revolutionary Gallery One space.” said Kyle Tortora, founder of Lotus Sculpture. “I feel it is a testament to our vision to provide the highest quality, hand-made Asian sculptures to Hindus, Buddhists and art lovers all over the world.”

Lotus Sculpture is an importer of the finest Hindu Gods and Buddha statues from India, Thailand, Bali, Cambodia and Nepal, with collections crafted from bronze, brass, marble, stone, and wood. During his thirteen years in business, Kyle Tortora has developed close relationships with Asian artisans, who have been practicing their craft for generations. He continues to personally select each piece, thus ensuring the best quality for his customers. Giving life to a once-struggling industry, Tortora has seen many small two-person, family workshops grow to employ 50 artists and directly sell to Lotus Sculpture.

Lotus Sculpture is an online gallery with a showroom located at 1834 Ord Way in Oceanside, CA.
