Zurmo Open Source CRM Wins Community Contest, to Be Added to BitNami Application Library

>PRWEB.COM Newswire

(PRWEB) January 29, 2013

Developers of the Zurmo Open Source Customer Relationship Management application today announced the project has won a contest sponsored by BitNami, an organization that aims to simplify the deployment of web applications. As the winner of the contest, Zurmo will be added to the BitNami Application Library, where it will be packaged as an easy to install Open Source CRM BitNami stack.

“BitNami is one of the most respected providers of Open Source software packages out there,” states Zurmo co-Founder and Lead Developer Jason Green. “It is an honor to be included in the application library next to other projects for which we hold considerable esteem.”

Zurmo is also offered as a one-click virtual appliance on TurnKey Linux and through an auto installer on A2Hosting. The software was downloaded over 800 times on the SourceForge during the third week of January, when the project listed Zurmo as a featured application.

“Having Zurmo listed on BitNami means another option for easy deployment and even further expansion of our reach,” states Zurmo co-Founder Ray Stoeckicht. “The Zurmo train pulled out of the station at the end of last year after our 1.0 release. It has been accelerating like a silver bullet ever since. The open source community is clearly looking at the project as the next generation CRM. It’s exciting.”
