Oslo - The "What Does the Fox Say?" children's book, published by Ylvis in the wake of their super hit musical video, has headed to the top of the New York Times bestseller list.
Digital Journal reported back in October that following the success of their music video, "What Does the Fox Say," the Ylvisåker brothers were publishing a children's book based on the song.
Now, according to Billboard Magazine, the book appears to be as popular as the music video, as it hits the number one spot on the New York Times bestseller list.
The book combines the lyrics of the song by Ylvis with illustrations by Svein Nyuhus, one of Norway's leading illustrators. Published on December 10, the book has already hit its sixth printing as it became a popular item for children this Christmas.
After "The Fox" received more than 300 million views on Youtube, and jumped to number 6 on the US Billboard Charts and then entered the UK Top 20, it became the year's most viewed video.
Produced as a joke to promote the latest season of their talk show, Tonight with Ylvis, the Ylvisåker brothers were surprised at the monumental success of the music video.
Yesterday, Bård Ylvisåker downplayed the importance of further success to him and his brother Vegard in the US, telling the Hollywood Reporter:
"We'll return to our office in Norway and still be happy. Everything's a bonus. And we won't be disappointed if we're kicked out of the country."
And just in case you haven't heard it yet...
