U.S. says held ‘substantive talks’ with Iran

The United States and Iran held "substantive" talks in Geneva as they seek to step up the pace of negotiations for a nuclear deal, a US official said Wednesday.

US Secretary of State John Kerry and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif had "substantive meetings for approximately five hours today and they discussed a broad range of issues with a small group of staff from each side," a senior State Department official said.
