Two children drowned Wednesday when a passenger boat capsized on east Africa's Lake Victoria, Kenyan police said.
The boat, which was travelling in Kenya's part of the vast inland lake, struck a fishing boat in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Local police chief John Omusanga, in Kenya's western Homa Bay district, said two children drowned and one adult was missing.
"The passenger boat was carrying 24 people, while the fishing boat had four fishermen on board," he said. "Most of the passengers had life jackets and that is what helped in rescuing them."
