South Africans are responding with shock and disbelief on the news that three women reportedly raped a man at gunpoint and harvesteed his semen in a cooler box. The South African police are looking at all angles including the possibility of witchcraft.
Reportedly three women got off from a BMW and abducted a 33-year-old man at gunpoint. The victim was forced to drink a potion after which they raped him and collected his sperm.
The incident happened in Kwazakhele Township in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
The victim was reportedly traumatized after the incident. He mentioned that the women stopped to ask for directions. Suddenly, one of them brandished a gun, got out of the BMW and forced him into the back of their car.
Mail Online quoted Constable Mncedi Mbombo as saying:
“His penis could not get erect. They then forced him to drink an unknown substance from a bottle. This got him aroused quickly even though he was still scared and didn't want to have sex.”
The women collected the man's semen in a small plastic bag and stored it in a cooler box. Later, they abandoned him at the side of the road and drove off.
According to Mail Online, police are “considering witchcraft as a possible motive for the shocking attack.”
There are also speculations that the women could be part of a business syndicate dealing in semen.
Media reports mention similar incidents where women have targeted males in other African countries.
The Star reported:
“There have been multiple cases of women raping men in 2015, though not all of them have been in pursuit of bodily fluids. Earlier this year, police confirmed that men in Diepsloot and Tembisa, areas just outside of Johannesburg, were kidnapped by gangs of women and sexually assaulted.”
The incident raises questions about the law enforcement’s abilities to address cases where men are sexual assault victims — the need to change the perception of rape in case of male victims.
