Three killed, seven injured in Louisiana theater shooting: police

A gunman opened fire in a movie theater in the US state of Louisiana, shooting dead two people before killing himself, police said.

Seven other people were shot by the gunman, police said, describing the shooter as a "white male in his 50s". Local police said in press conference the shooter appeared to have died from a self-inflicted wound.

The shooting took place at the Grand 16 theater in the city of Lafayette during a showing of the film "Trainwreck," local media reported.
