Following the death of their father, Robin Williams's three children have issued a statement, describing him as their best friend.
His daughter Zelda Williams, 25 and his two sons, Cody Williams, 23, and Zak Williams, 31, have all spoken warmly of their "father and best friend," and thanked everyone who has sent kind words to them.
As reported by Robert Weller and others on Digital Journal yesterday, Robin Williams was found dead "at his home in Tiburon in Marin County" on Monday. He was 63.
Williams's daughter, Zelda, referred to the last time the family had been together, for the late actor's recent 63rd birthday.
"My last day with him was his birthday," the 25-year-old confirmed, "and I will be forever grateful that my brothers and I got to spend that time alone with him, sharing gifts and laughter."
She described her father as "always warm, even in his darkest moments," and went on to say, "While I'll never, ever understand how he could be loved so deeply and not find it in his heart to stay, there's minor comfort in knowing our grief and loss, in some small way, is shared with millions."
Thanking those who were sending "kind words" about her father, Zelda said that "one of his favourite things in the world was to make you all laugh."
As reported widely in the past few hours, police say Williams took his own life. "Marin County Sheriff's Lt Keith Boyd said Williams, 63, had been treated for depression and killed himself by hanging," BBC News confirmed earlier.
Zelda also had a few words for those people who had responded negatively about their father's death.
She said: "As for those who are sending negativity, know that some small, giggling part of him is sending a flock of pigeons to your house to poop on your car. Right after you've had it washed. After all, he loved to laugh too…"

Adding to his sister's words, Williams's son, Cody, added: "There are no words strong enough to describe the love and respect I have for my father. The world will never be the same without him. I will miss him and take him with me everywhere I go for the rest of my life, and will look forward, forever, to the moment when I get to see him again."
Meanwhile, Zelda continued: "Dad was, is and always will be one of the kindest, most generous, gentlest souls I've ever known, and while there are few things I know for certain right now, one of them is that not just my world, but the entire world is forever a little darker, less colourful and less full of laughter in his absence. We'll just have to work twice as hard to fill it back up again."
Williams's other son, Zak, also spoke about their dad, referring to him as his best friend. "Yesterday, I lost my father and a best friend and the world got a little greyer. I will carry his heart with me every day. I would ask those that loved him to remember him by being as gentle, kind, and generous as he would be. Seek to bring joy to the world as he sought."
