article imageObama plans to use executive power to allow illegals to stay

Washington, D. C. - U.S. President Barack Obama is planning to use executive authority to issue millions of work permits to those who entered the country illegally if no congressional action occurs by the end of summer.
The move could grant roughly 11.5 million people working in the United States without documentation permission to stay and work. Any action will come just ahead of midterm elections and is expected to send candidates of both parties scrambling. Republicans are considering impeachment according to Congressman Steven King. He said that impeachment proceedings should begin immediately if the president exercises executive power to issue the permits.
That's my position and that's my prediction.
Republican Jeff Sessions of Alabama said
It would be an affront to the people of this country which they will never forgive, it would be a permanent stain on your presidency.
Democrats worry that if the President acts before the midterm elections, it might damage reelection chances for hotly contested seats.
The president asked Congress for $3.7 billion to deal with a rising humanitarian crisis on the southern border caused by refugees fleeing Central American countries. The request has not been fulfilled by Congress. The president has indicated that he will order the unaccompanied minor children that caused the border crisis back to their home countries. The crisis at the southern border of the United States is giving the president “broad permission” according to top adviser Dan Pfeiffer.
That perceived mandate may be slipping, according to a new CNN/ORC poll that shows support for the would-be Americans falling. Fifty-four percent of Americans supported creating a path to legal status in February. Last week, the same poll found that only 45 percent Americans support the idea now.
