Moscow permits march in memory of slain opposition leader

Moscow city authorities on Saturday gave permission for opposition leaders to hold a march in memory of Kremlin critic Boris Nemtsov, after they cancelled a planned protest rally.

"We have agreed this event" set for Sunday, city official Alexei Maiorov told RIA Novosti news agency, adding the route through central Moscow would cross the Bolshoi Moskvoretsky bridge where Nemtsov was shot. The authorities gave permission for up to 50,000 people to take part, starting at 1200 GMT.
