Lithuania’s ‘Iron Lady’ to vie with leftist for presidency

Lithuania's incumbent "Iron Lady" Dalia Grybauskaite emerged as the clear leader in presidential polls Sunday but will have to face a leftist in a run-off vote, the election commission announced.

The tough-talking karate black belt, known for her hard line against a resurgent Russia, scored 45.7 of the vote compared to 13.7 percent for Social Democrat MEP Zigmantas Balcytis with 95.7 percent of votes counted, triggering a final face off on May 25.
