IS radio praises Charlie Hebdo attackers as ‘heroes’

-

The Islamic State group's radio praised as "heroes" Thursday those who carried out a deadly attack on French magazine Charlie Hebdo.

"Jihadist heroes have killed 12 journalists who worked for the French magazine Charlie Hebdo and wounded more than 10 others, to avenge the Prophet (Mohammed)," said a statement read on Al-Bayan radio.

In fact, only eight journalists died in the Wednesday assault on the satirical magazine's Paris headquarters. Of the four others who died, two were policemen.
