Helmet cam captures dramatic rescue of unconscious skydiver

James Lee, 25, was jumping in Wiltshire, but almost immediately after jumping from the plane he collided with someone else and was knocked unconscious.

Two companions quickly realized, via the use of hand signals (and Lee’s lack of response to them), that Lee was unconscious. They were able to roll Lee into a more stable position, and then they deployed his parachute to make sure he landed safely.

Lee regained consciousness shortly before touching down on the ground and said he didn’t remember what happened once jumping from the plane.

The harrowing experience wasn’t a deterrent, apparently.

“It hasn’t put me off at all, I have not jumped too much lately because of the weather but will be back in the sport this season,” Lee told the Telegraph.

Miraculously, he only suffered from a sore neck and headache from the potentially life-threatening situation.

The news broke only a day after a 16-year-old in Tulsa, Oklahoma fell 3,000 feet in a skydiving accident. She miraculously survived, but ended up hurting her liver, as well as breaking several ribs, a shoulder blade, her pelvis and her lumbar spine in her lower back.
