article imageGirl survives tsunami, is reunited with her family after 10 years

By Walter McDaniel     Aug 8, 2014 in World
Kabupaten - When Raudhatul Jannah was just four years old she was swept away in a 2004 tsunami. Somehow the girl survived the rushing waters and a fisherman rescued her. After 10 years her parents found her and they are together once again.
Jannah grew up for some time in a series of islands to the southwest of her original home. She stayed with the fisherman's family and eventually migrated back to her original home in the West Aceh District. Her parents, including 42-year-old Jamaliah, had searched for her over the years. Finally family members spotted a 14-year-old girl who looked like their missing daughter. It was her and their family came together again, after all this time according to the Journal.ie.
We often hear about the plight of children in Indonesia so often some do have loving families. Many believe that it is this fact that allows many of them to lead full lives and contributes to them being the happiest people on earth.
So why do we hear about the bad side of Indonesia so often if this is true? For one they are not an economic world power so some areas are poverty-stricken despite overall economic growth there. Many believe this will change as their economy picks up further.
Jannah went by Wenni while living with what could be considered her foster family. So not only did she find her real parents but had the love of two families over her life. Her brother, Arif Pratama Rangkuti, was also swept up but survived and is now living his own life. He is reportedly still somewhere around the area that he and his sister grew up in. His parents hope to find him as well.
