Five people killed as building collapses in Poland

-

At least five people were killed including two children when an apartment building collapsed in Poland on Saturday, possibly due to a gas explosion, according to officials.

Four others were injured and rescued from the rubble in the town of Swiebodzice, western Poland, before being rushed to hospital.

"Right now we are still searching for one person," regional governor Pawel Hreniak told reporters.

A gas explosion may have caused the two-storey building to collapse, according to Daniel Mucha, a spokesman for the regional Lower Silesia firefighters.
