Global News reported.
The female giraffe, was born in 1983 at the Toronto Zoo. She celebrated her 30th birthday in August of last year.
The Star reported zoo officials said a giraffe can only live to 20 to 25 years of age in the wild.
Last October the giraffe became a great aunt to a newborn giraffe calf, “Mstari.”
CBC reported no cause of death was given. Zoo officials noted, however, the animal lived to be older than 96 percent of female Masai giraffes.
