Alleged Cosby sex victims want full deposition released

-

Two alleged Bill Cosby victims called for the publication of a full deposition by the comedian, after unsealed transcripts showed him admitting to drugging at least one woman for sex.

Embattled actor Cosby has been accused of attacks going back decades by some 30 women, but last week's unsealed documents were his first apparent admission of guilt.

"It is important for the world to know the truth about how Bill Cosby hunted me like a predator," said Beth Ferrier, appearing alongside Rebecca Lynn Neal and their lawyer Gloria Allred.

Allred added: "What we filed today in the United States Eastern Court of Pennsylvania is a memorandum for the release of the entire transcript" of the deposition, dating from 2005.

"We're interested... because we don't know if Mr Cosby testified further about Rebecca and about Beth, and if he did what he stated," added Allred, who represents 16 alleged victims of Cosby.

Cosby admitted in documents released last week that in 1976 he had supplied Quaaludes -- a strong depressant widely used in the 1960s and 70s -- to a woman who later accused him of sexual assault.

"I meet Ms (T, whose name was redacted to preserve her anonymity) in Las Vegas. She meets me back stage. I give her Quaaludes," he said in the deposition. "We then have sex."

Cosby was the face of "The Cosby Show," the family sitcom that was a huge hit in the 1980s and 1990s, making the actor a household name in the US and around the world.

Before that, Cosby was well known as a standup comedian and as one of the few black actors at the time to land lead roles, including in the hit secret-agent TV series "I Spy."

But from one of America's best-loved celebrities Cosby has gone to one of its most reviled.

The entertainer was forced to resign from the board of Temple University, his alma mater, last December, as sexual abuse allegations against him mounted.

He has also canceled several comedy engagements and a Cosby television special that was planned for late last year was scuttled.
