article imageOp-Ed: The Loonies are back at Sandy Hook

By Alexander Baron     Feb 11, 2014 in World
Sandy Hook - The conspiracy mongers are back big time. Did you know the Sandy Hook massacre was staged, or that it never happened? Neither did I.
Today I received an email from a...well, nutter, a true proponent of the Grand Conspiracy, which has been updated quite a bit in recent years. Recently, a number of videos have been posted to YouTube. My attention was drawn to this one. Robbie Parker is the father of one of the victims. His daughter Emilie was 6. He is seen on this video laughing. According to my "informant" that is proof that Sandy Hook never happened, or that it was staged and the families were in on it. There are all sorts of lunatic conspiracy "theories" concerning this. Pick one.
The above video was posted in December 2012, shortly after the atrocity. Here is a slightly later one which claims a family snapshot has been faked.
Finally, here is one that was posted February of last year. This one is more of a rant.
Is there any truth in the above? It doesn't hurt to look at any event, tragic or otherwise, critically. We have learned that with Syria, those who didn't learn it years or decades earlier. In that conflict there has been atrocity propaganda on both sides, and atrocities on both sides. If we receive a report that 10, 100 or 1,000 people have been massacred in an incident in a far off war-torn land, how are we to assess it? But Sandy Hook does not fall into that category, nor does 9/11, because the same idiots are making the same noises about that, still.
The parents of some of the Sandy Hook victims started a petition to "urge the Connecticut legislature to pass a law that would keep sensitive information, including photos and audio, about this tragic day private and out of the hands of people who'd like to misuse it for political gain."
In the UK, such information would be kept out of the public domain for probably 100 years. In the US on the other hand, you can find autopsy photos of the President himself, and more recently of Michael Jackson so that conspiracy cranks can hunt for anomalies that support their particular fantasy without the slightest concern for the families of the victims, as the Robbie Parker video demonstrates.
The Sandy Hook petition was successful. Obviously because the families themselves were part of the plot. Who else but a government shill like me would suggest otherwise?
