article imageThird annual Refugee Health Care National Day of Action Special

Edmonton - The third annual National Day of Action for Refugee Health Care was observed in Edmonton with a small but passionate group.
The day of action was organized by Canadian Doctors for Refugee Care, a group of doctors across Canada who treat refugee patients. The first rally was held in 2012 after Canada's federal government announced cuts to the Interim Federal Health Program for refugees.
In Alberta, however, there is some good news on this matter, as there is talk of the provincial government stepping in to fill the gap in refugee health care. The cuts potentially result in refugees not receiving essential services and medications necessarily to the well being of them and their families.
