Edmonton - A peace group in Edmonton held a picket on February 8, calling for the immediate resignation of Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
The Edmonton Coalition Against War and Racism (ECAWAR) held a banner, displayed signs, handed our leaflets, and encouraged passers by to sign a petition outside of the Old Strathcona Farmers' Market on Edmonton's south side.
Representatives from ECAWAR cited numerous reasons why Stephen Harper is not fit for leading Canada such as the recent destruction of library materials, lack of support for the arts, unconditional support for Israel, and a multitude of other issues over the years which the group feel undermined Harper's leadership.
ECAWAR holds regular pickets and discussion meetings on a variety of issues concerning the government and foreign policy.
