article imageNames of American citizens spied on by NSA to be published

By William Suphan     May 27, 2014 in Politics
Glenn Greenwald, who assisted Edward Snowden in collecting information about illegal wiretapping done by the NSA, is about to publish the names of all Americans the NSA has spied on.
The nation experienced a stunned sense of betrayal by the government from the information that whistleblowers Edward Snowden and Glenn Greenwald have released regarding illegal warrantless data collection on American citizens. Now, Greenwald is set to bring forth the motherlode of information: a list of all the American citizens that the NSA has spied on, according to RT.
“One of the big questions when it comes to domestic spying is, ‘Who have been the NSA’s specific targets?’ Are they political critics and dissidents and activists? Are they genuinely people we’d regard as terrorists," said Greenwald, "What are the metrics and calculations that go into choosing those targets and what is done with the surveillance that is conducted? Those are the kinds of questions that I want to still answer,”
Greenwald further lambasted the NSA for not only overreaching their power, but for doing so with great ineptitude, “There is this genuinely menacing [spy] system and at the same time, [they] are really inept about how they operate it, “Not only was he out there under their noses downloading huge amounts of documents without being detracted, but to this day, they’re incapable of finding out what he took.”
Greenwald plans to publish the names on The Intercept, the website he started after having left The Guardian.
The spying that the NSA has done has been a contentious issue for many Americans as it violates not only the trust of the people, but also goes against the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution which guarantees the right to not be subject to unreasonable search and seizure and states that any searches must be conducted only after probable cause has been established and a warrant obtained.
It is not yet certain on which date this information will be publicly released.
