article imageDumb tweet or sharp critique? Donald Trump says Obama walks weird

By Marcus Hondro     Apr 23, 2014 in Politics
A leader of that loopy Barack Obama birther movement, and one who, despite proof, still believes his president was born in Kenya, has taken his criticisms to a new level. On twitter Tuesday, Donald Trump took a shot at his prez — for the way he walks.
"The way President Obama runs down the stairs of Air Force 1" the Donald tweeted. "Hoping & bobbing all the way, is so inelegant and unpresidential." Trump later deleted it, added a 'p' to 'hopping' and 'Do not fall' at the end, and put it back up.
So is that a dumb tweet or a very intelligent, necessary and astute observation? Well first, it could be possible to find someone else having remarked on how President Obama makes his way down the steps of Air Force One, but this reporter was unable, despite some searching, to do so. So Trump is likely in a rarefied zone all his own on this one.
What was easy to find, however, were responses to Trump's tweet. One, from Troll Cat, told the Donald that "The way you wear your hair and employ D-List celebrities on your 99th-ranked TV show is unpresidential." Ryan Wagner tweeted the following to Don: "Scraping the bottom of the barrel a little, aren't we, Donald?" while Papelbon Iver sent Donald this message; "You are the only person in the world who cares about that."
Trump's odd uttering has had some backing though as to date it has been liked 623 times and favorited another 692 times. No stats have been kept, however, on how many like the way President Obama walks down the steps of Airforce One. Or how many have even thought about it. Ever.
While those Trump fans appear to have found something to like about the Donald's tweet, surely more Americans found something to like about the joke Obama made on The Tonight Show in October of 2012. Obama's joke concerned Trump's antipathy toward him and his insistence that he was born in the African nation of his father rather than the U.S.
“This all goes back to when we grew up together in Kenya,” the President quipped to Jay Leno. “We had constant run-ins on the soccer field. He wasn’t very good and resented it. When we finally moved to America I thought it would be over.”
