article imageYouTube video of runaway FedEx delivery van goes viral

By James Walker     Apr 4, 2014 in Internet
A video of a runaway FedEx delivery van has hit YouTube and gone viral, claiming over 344,000 views and 1400 likes in under a day.
The clip was posted on a channel called 'JWs Public Videos' - whose first and only video happens to be this clip - and was captured by the user's home surveillance camera system.
The video is entitled 'Sometimes Security Cameras catch a gem!' and opens with a FedEx delivery van driving around a corner and parking up on the street opposite the users' house. It briefly disappears from view but is then seen rolling back down the street, initially with the driver still clinging onto the vehicle. It comes to a rest against a fence by a neighbouring house having nearly clipped a tree in the process.
FedEx hasn't made any comment about the incident but presumably the driver simply forgot to apply the handbrake before leaving the vehicle. Luckily, nobody was injured but of course the incident could have ended far worse if the van had rolled into another vehicle on the road.
[UPDATE]: The video is now on 346,000 views having claimed another 2000 whilst this article was being written!
[UPDATE - 19:35, 04/04/2014]: The video has just passed the 500,000 view mark!
