Retail worker quits after her bra is searched by managers

Naomi Scott’s bra was searched in full view of other staff members, as well as customers at the Poundland store that she was working at. She said she was left humiliated and when bosses realized that she wasn’t stealing anything from the store, she didn’t even receive an apology.

Scott, who earned around $6.00 per hour (£3.91), described how a female supervisor ordered her to pull her bra forward to see if she was concealing stolen cash. She also said that two colleagues had their bras searched too.

She said that the incident showed that they didn’t trust their staff. She continued to say that she never stolen anything in her life, and afterwards the supervisor simply walked off. Scott said she was embarrassed, shocked and the incident was disgusting.

Four days after the incident took place, she decided to leave the store, located in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.

A spokesman for the company did comment on the incident. He said that what had happened was highly regrettable. He added that the company has taken steps to ensure that something like this doesn’t happened again.
