Imagine going on the hunt for Pokemon, but instead of finding them, you stumble across a dead body. One person didn't have to imagine this because that's exactly what happened to them.
On July 8, A woman playing the new augmented reality game, Pokemon Go, found the dead body. The 19-year-old, Shayla Wiggins from Wyoming, was told by the game to find Pokemon in a natural water source, but instead of finding Pokemon, she found a man's dead body.
The game, which was only released a week ago, gets people to find and catch Pokemon, virtual monsters, by using the person's location on their phone. Wiggins said she was approaching a bridge along the shore and that's when she spotted something in the water.
Wiggins jumped over the fence because she wanted to get the creature shown on her map, but as she got near the bridge she found the body. She called 911 right away, and authorities came out quickly.
Authorities confirmed that they are investigating the death. However, they believe that as of now the man probably drowned in the spot, where the water is no deeper than three feet.
A statement released by authorities say that the death looks to be accidental in nature. The statement added that as of now there is no indication of foul play.
Wiggins said she was scared, but she would go back to the river in order to find her water Pokemon.
