A party goer threw beer at a tiger, while another reveler wanted to "fight a penguin" at a series of Friday night parties at the zoo in London.
According to Mirror, the 'Zoo Lates' is an event which thousands of party goers head to the zoo to "party with the animals" and it raises up to £800,000 (USD $1,000,000+) a year, which fund's the zoo's work.
In one incident, The Guardian, reports, a man was thrown out by staff after he poured beer over a tiger. Earlier this month another man stripped off his clothing and tried to enter the penguin pool, but staff intervened. A drunken woman may have tried to enter the lion enclosure back in June, but that report is unconfirmed.
A spokeswoman for the zoo said that nobody has ever managed to get into any of the animal enclosures, and that the welfare of the animals is important to the zoo.
The spokeswoman did say that a couple of years ago at a late night event at the zoo an enclosure for snakes was cracked, and the zoo ended up moving the animals, but none of the snakes escaped.
Zoo Lates occur on Friday nights during the summertime, and takes cost around £35. People will usually dress up in animal print onesies and wear masks.
The spokeswoman also said that guests generally show respect for the animals, and the few exceptions were thrown out of the event.
