article imageNorwegian man wins over $900 on bet after Suarez bites opponent

By Walter McDaniel     Jun 25, 2014 in Odd News
One fan won 5,600 Norwegian Krone which is around $916 after he bet that Luis Suarez would continue his habit of biting players during the World Cup.
Thomas Syversen bet that Suarez would bite someone during a match. His chosen player did not let him down. Major sites such as FOX Sports have picked it up. This came about after Suarez bit Giorgio Chiellini during the World Cup match with Uruguay and Italy.
The case is making huge news all over the media and CBS News reports that Suarez may be kicked from the tournament. Suarez himself has a checkered past that has led some to question his mental stability. His situation is currently being heavily reviewed by those that manage the team. As a forward he plays an important position so they are likely wary of just suspending him during the tournament.
The event has ignited discussion all over Twitter. Some are treating is as a joke and others believe it is an outrage on the sport of soccer. Fans are taking sides and the discussion is everywhere.
"This is probably the sickest game I've handed in, not to mention the sickest game I've won," Syversen said when interviewed by Aftenposten. The lucky winner has good reason to be excited but the player himself does not.
Suarez himself is in some big trouble after the incident. He will likely have another ban coming up and has been banned before. At least he made some money for one of his devoted fans.
