article imageMother arrested for buying cocaine for her daughter

Tunbridge Wells - A mother from England was arrested for buying hundreds of dollars worth of drugs for her daughter, who was turning 18-years-old.
The mother, Nicola Austen, booked a limousine and bought 12 bags of cocaine because she wanted to make sure her daughter, who was turning 18, would have a good time. The 37-year-old mother, who is also a grandmother, got lucky and was spared a jail sentence.
Austen said that she was also planning on taking the cocaine with her daughter on the night out in London. However, she was arrested after the cocaine was found hidden in her home in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
After being arrested, Austen admitted she possessed cocaine and her intent was to supply. Instead of receiving a jail sentence, the judge handed her a suspended sentence. The judge accepted her claims that she had no intent to distribute the drugs more widely. As a result of that, the judge gave her a lighter sentence.
Austen has previous convictions, which includes drug possession. Asides from receiving a suspended prison sentence, the judge ordered herto do 250 hours of unpaid work.
Her attorney, Danny Moore, claimed there was a young boy in the family and a prison sentence would have had an adverse effect on him. The attorney added that Austen provided care for her grandmother.
The arrest occurred back in January, but Austen appeared in court for sentencing last week. She did have a few things to say about the incident. Recently, she said that the whole thing was blown out of proportion and she had enough. She added that the story wasn't the scoop of the century and it was just a party.
Before Austen was arrested, police raided her home and a sniffer dog found the cocaine, which was divided up into 12 wraps in sections of a window. That apparently wasn't the first time the home was raided, as neighbors said it has been raided a number of times.
One neighbor said that when they saw Austen's home being raided in January, there were a lot of police at the scene, as well as a big wagon. The neighbor added that the whole thing really wasn't nice, and that she lived there with her husband and son, as well as her daughter and her partner and her child.
