article imageMan jailed for being apparent domestic violence victim

Aliquippa - A Pennsylvania man has been been arrested by local police for being the apparent victim, not perpetrator, of domestic violence.
Twenty-four year-old Justin Lindsey spent at least the last week in jail following his arrest on suspicion of domestic violence.
The arrest was spurred by the man's ex-girlfriend who filed a report with Aliquippa police accusing Lindsey of simple assault and harassment.
Rather than wait for police to locate and apprehend him, Mr. Lindsey drove to the local police department — with his mother and father in-tow — to not only turn himself-in, but show authorities cellphone footage of the incident which clearly displays the unnamed woman as the armed aggressor.
In the video, the ex-girlfriend is seen brandishing a long, metal pipe which — at one stage — is used to strike Lindsey, apparently knocking the cellphone recording the incident from his hand.
The recording resumes to show other unnamed persons escorting the combative woman away from the home and into a car to leave the scene.
"They refused to look at the video, refused to hear his side,” said Twila Lindsey, mother of the incarcerated in an interview with CBS News local Pittsburgh affiliate KDKA.
According to Twila, the woman responsible for seeing her son arrested remains at large and free from police investigation. The Lindsey family has spent the past several days trying to convince Aliquippa police of their son's innocence but to no avail.
At this time, it remains unclear if Mr. Lindsey managed to obtain his release from jail prior to the long, Labor Day weekend. Should Lindsey remain in jail through the holiday weekend and into the four-day work week, he stands to lose his job in Robinson Township.
