A nearby car wash owner, Cesar Renteria,
said they witnessed the man, who has yet to be identified, perform the dangerous stunt. Renteria said that he and people on the other side of the tracks were surprised at what the guy was doing.
Another witness
said the train got very close to hitting the man. The witness continued to say that it looked like the man's legs were almost struck by the train. A few cars honked their horns at him, warning him to stop doing what he was doing, but he simply pointed at them and then continued on.
The man didn't roll under the train just once, as he proceeded to do it a number of times before running off.
Jeff Degraff, a spokesman for the Union Pacific Railroad,
said that if the stunt went wrong, then the train could have derailed, which could have affected more than just the man who decided to roll under the train. He added that what the man did was not a game.
Authorities are
looking into the video, and Degraff said what the man did was a crime, so it isn't just a safety issue at hand.
