article imageMan faces charges after parking plane at pub to grab a drink

Newman - A man in Australia has been charged by police after he drove a light plane down the street and then parked it at a pub while he went to have a beer inside.
The 37 year old man endangered the lives, health and safety of residents, according to Newman police.
The man is being accused of buying a wingless Beechcraft two-seater plane and then he decided to stop for a drink on his way home.
According to Mashable , the incident took place last Friday afternoon. Witnesses told police the plan drove from one end of town to the other end.
One concern was the timing, as the incident occurred around the same time kids got out of school. Police said the danger is obviously taxiing a plan down Newman Drive while keeping in mind that kids are just coming out of school.
Authorities examined the plane and discovered an exposed fuel line hanging from the side of the plane attached to an insecure jerry can that was inside the cabin. This was to enable the engine to run.
The man is accused of leaving the engine in a potentially dangerous condition while the ignition was on.
Authorities said the roads were busy with both vehicles and pedestrians, and the accused did not have a license to fly a plane.
The man will go to Newman Magistrates Court on November 18.
