The incident took place at Shenyang Hunnan Xinqu Hospital, where the man, Mr. Wang, was anxiously waiting for his wife to give birth. The mix-up occurred when doctors entered the area Mr. Wang was waiting in and asked him to accompany them. He went under the impression he was going to see his wife and help her with the delivery of their child.
Wang, 29, was actually being taken to the operating room. He thought maybe something went wrong during his wife’s C-section. However, he was surprised at what happened next.
Apparently the doctor mumbled something that Wang didn’t understand, and he was asked to remove his pants. When he questioned why, the nurse allegedly told him to just do what they had asked.
Mr. Wang ended up doing what he was told even though he wondered how it was going to help with his wife’s operation. He also figured it was in his best interest to listen to the professionals. After he removed his pants, he got onto the operating table.
Surgeons provided him with anesthetic and then they removed a hemorrhoid, which he didn’t even realize he had. Mr. Wang said while he was on the operating table, he heard a baby crying and he was happy. However, he was unable to move due to being in pain.
Mr. Wang was confused with another patient who completed paperwork for the surgery. The fact that Mr. Wang ended up having a hemorrhoid made things even more confusing.
The hospital offered to settle for $751 as compensation and they are placing part of the blame on Mr. Wang. They believe he should have said something throughout the procedure. It is possible that Mr. Wang will sue the hospital, but for now the two parties are negotiating.
Some on social media have questioned why he didn’t say something, while others have made light of the situation.
