London travel card among gifts for Queen Elizabeth

-

Queen Elizabeth II was presented jewels, fine wine and a London travel card during royal engagements last year, a list revealed on Wednesday.

The Oyster card was presented to the monarch when she marked the 150th anniversary of London Underground by visiting Baker Street Tube station in March.

A commemorative version of the pass was also given to her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh and Prince William's wife Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge.

The president of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed brought a gold jewelled frame set on a jewelled ostrich egg during a state visit in April.

He also gifted the queen a five-strand necklace made from natural pearls sourced from the Arabian Gulf.

A chocolate Windsor Castle and an edible replica of the Irish state carriage made from chocolate, sugar and 24-carat gold leaf were presented to the queen when she visited confectionary firm Mars.

When the royal visited the barracks of the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery in London, she was given a 13lb artillery cartridge mounted on a wooden plinth.

The item featured in a list of officials gifts given to members of the royal family and released by Buckingham Palace.

One of the presents given to the queen's daughter, Princess Anne, was a contemporary art print of her riding a moose -- handed over by its creator artist Charles Pachter.

The presentation was made when she visited Canada in October.

Prince Charles received 18 bottles of perfume from an unnamed individual in Saudi Arabia, while his son Prince Harry was presented a 3D printed doll of himself by a New York firm.
