Kazakh man attempts to sit exam dressed as his girlfriend

A 20-year-old man in Zhetisai south Kazakhstan has been fined £1,400 after he tried to sit his girlfriend’s exam on her behalf.

His 17-year-old sweetheart had been too nervous to take the test, and in a true spirit of valour which shows chivalry is still very much alive, he came up with an ingenious plan — to sit the exam for her, disguised as her.

So he entered the exam room wearing a black wig, grey skirt and white blouse.

As John Lennon once sang, “there are no problems, only solutions” — and this solution would have worked, had it not been for Ayan Zhademov’s baritone pitch giving the game away.

The monitors invigilating the exam only realised that something wasn’t quite right when Ayan opened his mouth.

A spokesman for the exam board said:

We suspected it might be another woman that had taken the candidate’s place, but we never suspected it was a man that had taken her place. At least not until he started speaking. He tried speaking in a high voice but it was obvious then that he was a male.

The young girl’s nerves and trepidation were certainly understandable — the test would have determined whether she could go to university or not.

In Kazakhstan, students must sit the Unified National Testing exam in order to prove themselves suitable for university education.

Fellow students were impressed with Ayan’s devotion and the lengths he went to in order to help his girlfriend. Dariga NesterovaI said:

It was stupid but very romantic. Sometimes love leads us to do silly things. I wish my boyfriend was this romantic.

A Zhetisai businessman felt that Ayan’s efforts should be rewarded and offered to pay half of the fine.

Dariga’s boyfriend was not available for comment, but we can expect that he was almost certainly thrilled with her rebuke, which has now been publicised around the world in print.
