article imageHigh school student sues over 'F'

By Owen Weldon     Oct 17, 2014 in Odd News
Renton - A high school student in Washington was accused of cheating on a test and now she is suing the district, demanding the grade be withdrawn.
According to Seattle PI, the Lindbergh High School student says that she was accused of cheating and then was unfairly penalized. She said this came after the fact the school board agreed to drop the day detention she had been given.
The student is asking for the school to overturn the "F" she got on the test back in June, and she is not seeking any damages, according to Fox.
The parents of the student, who has not been named, said that their daughter was never caught cheating. They continued to say that she was only found with study materials in her purse.
According to NY Daily News, the chemistry teacher allegedly found the materials in the student's pencil pouch, which was accessible during the exam.
The student insists she never looked at the notes during the test and the teacher just assumed that she did.
The attorney representing the student said that his client just wants the grade removed from her transcript because she doesn't want to hurt her chances of getting into a good college.
Her attorney also added that his client has never had any problems with the school, and she has no disciplinary record.
